Senior Systems Engineer

Position Summary
As senior system engineer, your role is to work within an infra team to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. You are also required Implement Windows & Linux based infrastructure based on business requirements, Ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Windows based infrastructure based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Able to independently troubleshoot and debug complex Wintel issues involving Windows (Win2008r2/2012/2016/2022) platform, VMware hypervisor, SAN Switches and DELL Storages.
• Engage in the maintenance and support activities, which include troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
• Provide level2 and level 3 support for Windows-related issues.
• Evaluating Systems architecture and propose recommendations are required.
• Develop and maintain IT SOPs, documentation, and asset inventory.
• Implement Windows based infrastructure based on business requirements. 
• Ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Windows based infrastructure based on business requirements. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows OS related incidents and problems according to customer processes.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for OS related service problems as part of problem management.
• Liaise with support vendors for maintenance, support or issues resolution.
• Support Windows Server based systems, system software, clustering software and system management agents.
• Assist in analyzing historical usage for tracking and trending by CPU, memory, I/O and storage.
• Implement capacity improvement plan.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the Technical Disaster Recovery Plan. Provide technical support during disasters.
• Execute Technical Disaster Recovery plan during DR and DR drill.

1. Setting up and managing
2. Windows Active Directory, inclusive of managing GPOs and user profiles.
3. Windows Clustering.
4. VMWare hosts (inclusive of VCenters).
5. Virtual machines, including all OS platforms (Linux and windows)
6. Acronis / Commvault backup, including defining backup policies based on industry standards.

• Maintain and monitor Kaspersky Antivirus, including defining policies based on industry standards.
• Review event logs on a regular basis based on business requirements.
• Manage the server OS patching procedure and security hardening.
• Evaluate and review patches, before and after installation.
• Perform backup and restore of systems based on business requirement.
• Manage and monitor systems using monitoring software.
• Writing/updating technical design, build and process documentations.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent
• At least 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure environment.
• Certification such as MCSE, MCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Strong experience and knowledge in virtualization technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V).                                                                                                     
• Strong knowledge and experience in managing Windows/Wintel servers and virtualization through VMware.
• Strong experience in managing and supporting Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy, IIS, File & Print server, Cluster, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, O365, MS Team is a must.
• Strong experience in OS hardening, patching
• Strong analytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skills, combined with ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
• Proven ability to meet day-to-day operation, project planning and activity planning and implementation.
• Provide guidance on both technical and problem analysis aspects.
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operation of the system infrastructure.
• Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
• Strong initiate, good team player, enjoys taking ownership of issues, process driven and great attention to details.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
• Must be independent, resourceful, pro-active and a team player.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Knowledge in monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG will be preferred.
• Knowledge in storage Management HP, DELL, IBM, NetApp Storage is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and programming languages.
• Work experience in manufacturing systems is an added advantage.
